How do stakeholders perceive your school?

Savvy school leaders know external consultants provide the most efficient management of objective surveys. Our experienced team assists schools in gaining the insightful information needed to assess, plan and execute perception-changing strategies, all at affordable rates. We ensure confidentiality of participant responses and prioritize valid and reliable survey questions and results.

Constituent Surveys

To help independent schools stay abreast of constituent perceptions and inform planning to achieve desired objectives, School Strategies and Solutions offers customized and proven-effective institutional surveys that gather timely and applicable data. We spend time understanding your needs and coordinating your surveys with ongoing projects such as accreditation self-assessments and exit interviews with departing families. We consult and assist in designing your survey with a focus on the school’s mission. Together with school personnel, we create a participant recruitment schedule and the messaging that encourages survey participation. Schools can choose whether they will invite participants via an internal administrator or allow Schoolstrat to contact the target population directly.

During the survey design process, we incorporate specific questions for which the school desires feedback, and also offer a selection of customized items from our comprehensive question bank. Editing of inquiries for purposes of brevity, clarity and appropriateness will take place as necessary.

Data Analysis

Schoolstrat consultants conduct survey analyses on gathered data to provide insights on program assessment and review, needs assessment, benchmarking, and higher-order analyses. Our goal is to have the data-viewing audience understand the results of respondent feedback and utilize them effectively. Data analysis reports to school clients include the raw data and/or brief executive summaries along with appropriate illustrative tables and charts. All data analyses are distributed to the appropriate administrators at the school, and our professional staff will be available for in-person reporting, conference call discussion or written inquiries.

School Strategies and Solutions (SS&S) is a terrific partner for independent schools. The Montessori School of Raleigh (MSR) has engaged SS&S on two occasions. Principal, Ted Lingenheld consulted with MSR through their Design Thinking process in 2012. He helped guide the Board of Trustees as they shaped their plan through retreats and workshops, he ran focus groups with key constituents and helped analyze demographic data. Ted also took part in presenting the final Design Thinking Plan 2012–2015 in our open Board meeting for the community. Ted lends many years of experience to the process and so he is able to provide key insights and guidance all along the way.

MSR again engaged SS&S in 2016 to assist us in deploying six surveys as part of our re-accreditation process with the American Montessori Society. Not only did we need to customize questions regarding Montessori pedagogy but we also asked SS&S to add two features to our surveys. The first was a congruence factor so that we could see if we were doing a good job on issues that were important to our constituents. The second was a net promoter score question. This question was essential to help us understand what our constituents really think about our school. Both the congruence factor and the net promoter question will greatly assist us as we shape our work for the next three years. SS&S narrative analysis was thorough and provided the essential information we needed to synthesize the survey results. SS&S was highly responsive to our needs in a timely fashion. They were professional and a delight to work with, and they delivered everything we needed on time and under budget.
